California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) Announces new Chief Executive Officer
CLCV names veteran political strategist Mary Creasman as CEO.
Oakland, CA — The California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) – the non-partisan political arm of the environmental movement in California – announced today that Mary Creasman, current California Director of Government Affairs for The Trust for Public Land, will take on the permanent role of CEO on August 27th.
“On behalf of CLCV’s Board, staff and members, I’m excited to announce that Mary Creasman will lead our critical work of electing environmental champions and advancing a clean energy future for all Californians,” said Glen Dake, Chair of the CLCV Board of Directors. “Mary brings with her extensive experience leading successful electoral and advocacy campaigns, a comprehensive knowledge of California’s political landscape, and a passion to protect our environment and improve the health of our communities.”
“During her time at The Trust for Public Land, Mary led efforts to place the now-successful Prop 68 on the ballot, which marks the largest parks investment in underserved communities in California’s history,” said Nancy Sutley, Chair of the CLCV Education Fund. “We at CLCV Education Fund look forward to Mary joining our team and continuing to push forward to protect our land, water, and air.”

As California Director of Government Affairs for The Trust for Public Land, Mary Creasman led the effort to pass the largest parks tax measure in the nation, spearheaded the state’s greatest investment in underserved communities in California’s history, and created an urban greening program marking the first time parks and green infrastructure were included in California’s climate policy. Mary has a long and successful track record of leading campaigns and initiatives at regional, statewide, and national levels as the Chief Strategy Officer of Green For All, the Associate Director of the Partnership for Children & Youth, and the Political and Organizing Director of the AFL-CIO Labor Council in Silicon Valley. She serves on the Wildlife Conservation Board as a Senate Appointee and has advised organizations across the country as an organizational development and effectiveness consultant.
